Unpublished Scripts: The Bobbafet Killer
Opening Scene:
There is heavy breathing. We see out of a thin eye opening. A girl walks around the corner and a man wearing a Boba fett mask attacks. We hear screams and the camera pans over to a clock which suddenly whirls backwards. We see a dark figure putting police tape around a vending machine.
Two detectives are playing pool. They discuss a murder case. One of the detectives says something – a key piece of information – the other realizes something and looks at a clock, which whirls backwards.
We see a man dressed in some fancy suit walk in to a meeting room. The chief in charge is briefing a room full of investigators about a Boba fett killer that’s been committing a series of disturbing murders. The evidence shows that all three victims had one thing in common: They had purchased a can of pepsi cola from a specific soda machine on a school campus only minutes before their deaths. The machine was now roped off by police tape, and since the tape had been put in place two days ago there have been no killings.
Three detectives stand at the scene of the vending machine, observing it. One detectives name is James. The other is Wallace. The third is unimportant. “So what are the leads so far, Wallace?” James says. Wallace tells James that forensic evidence and footprints have led up to three teachers on the campus. Wallace goes over each suspects profile (The video is showing cutaways of everything he talks about – footprints, mug shots of suspects, etc). The two detectives head off to investigate. The camera pans to a clock and it spins backwards much like before.
James is at home watching the news. There’s a story about a second murder in which the murderer was seen wearing a Boba fett mask via security camera tapes. James sips a cup of coffee. The phone rings. It’s the chief and he says that he wants to hold a big meeting to discuss the two killings since they were obviously linked by the man wearing a Boba fett mask.
James is walking to the station with another detective. That detective is talking about how the culprit had to have been either a teacher or officer on campus since no one outside of the school other than the police and detectives were ever allowed on the grounds. He says that two murders within the same week on the same campus just wasn’t right. The first took place after school and there was no apparent motive.
We see a flashback style (though in real time) shot of a kid (the third victim) purchasing a soda from a vending machine. We see a clock whirl backwards again. Two detectives are playing pool – the same two from the opening shot. They’re playing for a large sum of cash. Wallace jokes that next time they’ll have to play for higher stakes, beyond the value of cash. He laughs creepily. The clock whirls forward and we’re back in the room with Wallace and James, in real time. The clues all make sense now. Wallace is the Boba fett killer.
