Highlight Text Vertically
So every once in a while you’ll come across a situation where you want to highlight text vertically. Why would you want to do that? Maybe you want to delete a bullet character that’s at the beginning of each line, much like the arrows at the front of forwarded emails.
Wouldn’t it be convenient to drag your cursor from the top to the bottom of the arrows and hit delete? Well you can if you’re working in Microsoft Word. To highlight text vertically, hold down alt while dragging your cursor! This will highlight with re-sizable box, much like the way you can select multiple items in a folder on your computer.
